As a lighter looms next to a cigarette,
The hand of a vaguely attractive stranger,
Holding the flicker, cupped in yours?
You know when,
You’re about to hit the pool,
And time almost slows,
Impact certain,
Hearting racing
It’s chaotic excitement,
The awe of a meteor coming down,
Right to your face,
But the color is this brilliant orange…
Orange, blissful and foreboding ,
Sweet and alarming,
Like realizing “Fuck I’m in love.”
And you’re a goddamn poet,
So it’s gonna hurt.
Crushes are orange...
